JEANNE D’ARC

In English we call her Joan of Arc. She was born sometime in the year 1412 and burned at the stake on 30 May 1431 at the age of 19.

The details of her life are complicated and hard to follow, but she she has played a prominent role as the symbolic defender of France.

This deliberately androgynous portrait is done on 300 gsm artist’s quality watercolour paper. Embossed with my initials.
